Our Instructors

Markita... is a multi-disciplinary designer. Most people know her as a Technical Shoe designer, and Design Educator… But, she also dabbles in a bit of Interior design and space curation from time to time. 

She creates with cool, confidence and ease; finding inspiration just about anywhere. 

Markita’s first love is shoe design and her creative path has led her to design for many well known brands such as Madden Girl, Ralph Lauren, Jessica Simpson, Vince Camuto, Marvel and Nickelodeon Licensing; just to name a few. Along her design journey she pivoted into Design and Art education working with students in underserved and  marginalized communities in NYC. Here, she discovered a softer, more empathic side of herself that she did not know existed and she didn’t know she needed. It was here that she learned how to really listen and connect with others. Markita is passionate about esteeming and gearing up the next generation of creatives; especially students of color. She also paints murals, builds props, and curates hallways for NYC and Maryland Public schools.
